The making of 'a note of love'

The making of 'a note of love' part 1- introduction

Making the film 'a note of love' was often times fun and in itself a story to share. Here in a two part video, share our journey to making the film in PJ old town and Penang.

The making of 'a note of love' part 2- acting and creating the scene

While the first part of the making of serves as an introduction to the project, this second part details the troubles it took to shoot what is seemingly ordinary life. From trying to shoot around the busy hustle and bustle of a malaysian wet market to closing a street and having your friendly neighbourhood firemen create rain, the challenges to bringing the film to life are detailed here along with interviews with the first time cast members on what acting and being in front of the camera is like.

Here's hoping these videos enrich your experience of the film knowing the backstory behind it.Here's also hoping it inspires you to make your own film...even if it's a little mobilefilm made on your handphone....do it!

Part 3 of the making of about Zubir's participation on the film is also available below...

a note of love - with songs by zubira

This is the video to the song Never Mine. The song Never Mine by local malaysian artist Zubira matched my ideas for a script of mine a note of love so much that I asked him if he would want to work together. I passed Zubir the script and he immediately felt drawn to the character of Yao in the film, someone who has the special feeling but doesn't understands it.Zubir says that he used to have that exact feeling too when he was five.

We immediately went to work on two more songs together, Beautiful Day and Cherry Tree. Both of which are now completed and can be heard in the film 'a note of love'
I personally believe that as a musician zubira has a almost nostalgic classic approach to his songs with a voice both reassuring and uplifting but don't take my word for it...check it out for yourself.... and then check out what he has to say about the video here...
